Jaipur turns three hundred.
We land in that year, at Dhun.
14 to 19 November 2027.
Jaipur was founded in 1727 and laid out as one of the most deliberately planned cities in the world. Three centuries later the residency sits on Jaipur’s edge, at Dhun, a 500-acre habitat inside Jaipur Urban where barren land is becoming a human-scale neighbourhood for around 8,500 people, tree by tree, well by well.

A platform for lifelong experiential learning at Dhun, running labs across culture, craft, food and land. It holds the ground the 2027 chapter works on.

The School of Pursuits and Passions holds a season inside the 2027 chapter, building a way of learning out of the place itself, ending in a commissioned public artwork for the neighbourhood.
The question
What is the role of the creator in the life of a city?
- In tension
- Barren land, scarce water, the slow arithmetic of growing a neighbourhood from zero, and an unsettled sense of what kind of learning belongs in a habitat being built from the ground up.
- Intention
- A learning inquiry sited at Dhun. Experiential first. Holistic. Multi-disciplinary. Lifelong.
- What lands
- A commissioned public artwork for the new neighbourhood, sited inside it, scaled to it. The commission is the visible artefact; the institutional work is what compounds.
- What stays
- A way of learning that Dhun keeps working with after the cohort leaves, held by the School on its own ground.
The cohort
Gunjan Gupta joins at Dhun.
Designer and material thinker, founder of Wrap and Ikkis, working from New Delhi. Two decades treating craft lineages, street culture and ritual objects as serious material, with brass casters, silver beaters, cane weavers and stone carvers as collaborators rather than suppliers.
She works on what design owes to the ground it comes from.
